Chats, folders, search and exporting a chat

Each conversation is its own chat, like in other chat assistants. PelQi still remembers your notes, lists and family in every chat; only the chat's own messages stay separate.

Chats and search work on every plan. Export comes with Plus, Family and Max.

Start and find chats

• Choose New chat at the top of the sidebar (on a phone, the drawer under More). Ctrl or Cmd Shift O does the same on a computer.
• Your chats are listed in the menu, grouped Pinned, Today, Yesterday and Earlier. A scheduled task's chat shows a clock; hover to see when it runs.
• Choose Search, or press Ctrl or Cmd K, to open the command palette. Type a few letters: it finds chat titles at once and what was said in chats after two letters, plus your tasks, lists, reminders, approvals, files and agents. It also runs actions, like Timers and alarms or Routines.

Organise a chat

• Open a chat's menu with the dots beside it, or a long press on a phone.
• Choose Rename, Pin to top, Move to a folder, Take out of folder, New folder with this chat or Delete.
• Folders open and close with a tap and can be renamed or removed. Removing a folder keeps its chats.

Export a chat

• In the chat's menu choose Export as Word or Export as PDF.
• A computer downloads the file. A phone or the app opens the share sheet, so you can save it to Files or send it by email.

Shortcuts on a computer

• Ctrl or Cmd K: Search. Ctrl or Cmd Shift O: New chat. Ctrl or Cmd B: show or hide the sidebar. Ctrl or Cmd full stop: the side canvas.
• Escape closes the top panel. The full list is in Settings, on the Help tab.

What it can and cannot do

• Each chat is private to you. Nobody else at home sees your chats.
• Search covers chat titles and what was said, with a snippet.
• Deleting a folder keeps its chats. Deleting a chat deletes its files and anything PelQi made in it.
• Export as Word or PDF comes with Plus, Family and Max and needs no extra allowance.

What you should see

The open chat is in the page address, so a reload stays on it. Deleting a chat removes its messages, files and anything PelQi made in it.

If it does not work

• A chat is missing: use Search with a word you remember saying. Chats are never shared with others at home.
• Export is dimmed: it is part of Plus, Family and Max.
