"PelQi needs to see your calendar"

Updated 18 October 2026

When you connect Google Calendar, Google shows a screen where you can tick or untick what PelQi may see. If the calendar box was unticked, PelQi hands the permission straight back to Google and says "PelQi needs to see your calendar. Connect again and leave the calendar box ticked on Google's screen."

The calendar box was unticked

  • In PelQi, open Connections and choose Connect Google Calendar again.
  • Sign in to the same Google account.
  • On Google's screen, leave the box for seeing your calendars ticked, then continue.
  • Back in PelQi, choose which calendars PelQi reads.

See Leave the calendar box ticked.

Other messages

  • "Google sign-in was cancelled, so nothing was connected. While PelQi's Google connection is in testing, only invited accounts can connect." Either you cancelled, or your Google account is not on the invited list. While Google reviews PelQi, Google stops the sign-in for accounts PelQi has not invited. See Connect Google Calendar.
  • "Your Google Workspace administrator does not allow PelQi to read this account's calendar. A personal Google account works." A work or school Google account with a rule against new apps. Use a personal Google account, or ask your administrator.
  • "That sign-in expired. Try connecting again." It took more than ten minutes. Start again.
  • "Google Calendar is not switched on yet. Try again soon." The connection is briefly off on PelQi's side. Try again later.

Reconnecting every seven days

While Google is still checking PelQi, Google ends invited accounts' access after seven days. Connections then shows "Google asked to sign in again" with Reconnect, and PelQi says "Your Google account needs connecting again in PelQi, under Connections." Choose Reconnect and sign in. This stops once Google has finished its review.

What you should see

Connections lists your Google calendars with ticks beside the ones PelQi reads (up to 10), and their events appear on Today and in your morning brief.
