A file will not upload

PelQi reads PDF, Word, Excel, PowerPoint and text files, and pictures. It checks what a file really is from its contents, not its name, and refuses anything else with a message saying why.

Messages about the file

• "PelQi reads PDF, Word, Excel, PowerPoint and text files, and pictures." The file is another kind (a zip, an app, an old .doc or .xls, a video). Save it as PDF or a modern Office file (.docx, .xlsx, .pptx).
• "Files with macros are not accepted. Save it as a normal .docx, .xlsx or .pptx." Files like .docm or .xlsm can run code, so PelQi never takes them. Use Save As in Office and pick the normal format.
• "That PDF is locked with a password. Save an unlocked copy and attach that." Open it, then save or print a copy without the password.
• "That PDF has more than 100 pages. Attach the part you need." Split the PDF and send the pages you need.
• "That picture is over 5 MB. Send a smaller copy." Take a screenshot of it, or export a smaller copy.
• "That text file is not in a format PelQi can read (save it as UTF-8)." Save the file again as UTF-8 text.
• "That file is too big inside to read." The Office file expands to too much when opened. Remove large pictures or split it.
• "That file is empty." Check the file opens on your device first.

Messages about limits

• "Files in chat are part of PelQi Plus and Family." On Free you can keep files in Files, but sending them in chat needs Plus, Family or Max.
• "Files can be up to 10 MB each on your plan." Plus and Family: 10 MB a file, 4 a message, 20 a day. Max: 20 MB a file, 8 a message, 60 a day.
• "Up to 4 files a message on your plan." Send the rest in another message.
• "Those files are too big to send together. Send them in two messages." One message's files together stay under 24 MB.
• "That's 20 files today. More tomorrow." The daily count resets at midnight.
• "Your file space is full. Delete files in Files, or an older chat with files, to make room." Files you keep, files sent in chat and files PelQi made all count. Free has 100 MB, Plus 2 GB, Family 5 GB for the household, Max 20 GB.
• "Files can be up to 25 MB each." The limit for one upload to Files.

What you should see

The file sits in the tray above the message box with its name, pages or kind and size, ready to send.

If it still does not work

Email info@fortisdatagroup.com with the file's type and size and the message. Do not send the file itself if it is private.
