Notifications are not arriving

Updated 18 October 2026

PelQi sends notifications for reminders, timers, your morning brief, tasks, announcements and anything waiting for your OK. Notifications are switched on separately on each phone, tablet or computer, so a device you never turned them on for stays quiet.

Turn them on for this device

  • In PelQi, open Settings (from the account menu, bottom left, or More on a phone) and find Notifications. The same switch is under Connections, Notifications.
  • Choose Turn on for this device and allow notifications when your browser or phone asks.
  • Choose Send a test. You should see "Sent. Check your notifications." and a notice from PelQi: "Hi Emma, this is how I'll let you know about things." (with your name).

Safari on iPhone or iPad

  • Notifications work only when PelQi is added to your Home Screen and opened from there (iOS 16.4 or later). In Safari itself, PelQi says "On iPhone, add PelQi to your Home Screen first (Share, then Add to Home Screen), then open it from there to turn on notifications." See Add PelQi to your iPhone or iPad home screen.
  • If you allowed them and nothing comes, open Settings, Notifications, find PelQi in the list, and switch Allow Notifications on.

The PelQi app on iPhone

  • The app uses Apple's own notifications. If PelQi says "Notifications are off for PelQi. Turn them on in Settings, Notifications, PelQi.", do exactly that, then choose Turn on for this device again.
  • If it says "Notifications need the newest PelQi app.", update the app from TestFlight.

The PelQi app on Android

The Android app shows "Notifications in the app are not switched on yet. They're coming soon." Until then, use PelQi in Chrome on Android, where notifications work: see Install PelQi on Android from Chrome or Edge.

Chrome on Android

  • If PelQi says "Notifications are blocked for PelQi in this browser's settings.", tap the icon to the left of the address, choose Permissions, and allow Notifications.
  • Also check the phone's Settings, Apps, Chrome, Notifications are on, and that battery saver is not stopping Chrome in the background.

Chrome, Edge or Firefox on a computer

  • Click the icon to the left of the address and allow Notifications, then turn them on in PelQi again.
  • On Windows, check Settings, System, Notifications has your browser switched on, and that Do not disturb is off.
  • On a Mac, check System Settings, Notifications, your browser, Allow notifications.
  • The browser must be running (it can be minimised) for a notification to reach a computer.

Safari on a Mac

Choose Safari, Settings, Websites, Notifications, and set PelQi to Allow. Then check System Settings, Notifications, Safari.

Focus, Do Not Disturb and quiet hours

  • iPhone Focus (Do Not Disturb, Sleep, Work) holds notifications back. Add PelQi as an allowed app in Settings, Focus, your Focus, Apps. Timers and alarms from the iPhone app do not yet break through Focus on their own: that needs the next app update, which adds time-sensitive alerts.
  • Quiet hours in PelQi (Family, Quiet hours) make announcements arrive silently, with no notification ping. Children start with quiet hours from 8pm to 7am.

See what PelQi sent you

Settings, You, Notifications lists your recent notifications under Recent notifications, newest first, with Show all for up to the last 50. Quiet ones are there too: announcements in your quiet hours and anything sent while this device had notifications off. Tap one to open where it points.

If Turn on for this device says "This browser would not turn notifications on", you are probably in a private window, which cannot have notifications. Use a normal window, or install PelQi and turn them on there.

Devices

PelQi keeps notifications for up to 10 devices for each person. Turning them on for an eleventh device stops them on the device that was set up longest ago. Turn them on again there if you still use it.

What you should see

The test notice arrives within a few seconds. Tapping a PelQi notification opens the right place in PelQi.

If it still does not work

Email info@fortisdatagroup.com with the device, whether you use the app, a Home Screen icon or a browser, and what happens when you choose Send a test.

Still stuck?

Email info@fortisdatagroup.com with what happened, what you expected and the device you use (for example, iPhone app, or Chrome on Windows). A person reads every message and answers within two working days. Never send a password or a code.
